Former Speaker has assumed his duties as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Chief of Staff.

 

Gbajabiamila began his duties at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday, just days after resigning from the House of Representatives.

The resignation letter was read aloud by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.

“To the glory of God, I resigned my membership in the newly inaugurated 10th House of Representatives ,” the new chief of staff announced on his Twitter account.

“I had the honour of introducing the first motion in the new House, which was about the need to prepare to avoid the negative effects of the predicted heavy flooding in certain regions of the country. Accordingly, the House passed the resolutions.

“After reading my resignation letter, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas declared my seat vacant,” A chance for the citizens of Surulere 1 Federal Constituency to elect my successor.
