… I am open to other opportunities, says, Great Ogboru.
Great Ovedje Ogboru, APGA’s 2023 Delta State governorship candidate, will not run in 2027.
On Monday Night, Ogboru told journalists in his country home in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, that the 2023 Governorship Election was tainted.
APGA’s March 18, 2023 governorship candidate thanked AGPA members and his many supporters.
He praised APGA candidates for their positions in the 2023 general elections but condemned voter intimidation, violence, vote buying, and other election irregularities.
Ogboru said it was worrisome and unthinkable for youths to willingly sell their votes, noting that they have enslaved themselves and have no right to condemn the next administration if they are unhappy with the governance.
He congratulated Delta State Governor-elect Hon. Sheriff Oborewori and urged Deltans to support him during his term.
Ogboru thanked his supporters, especially those who have supported him politically for over two decades, and announced that he would not run for governor in 2027.
Asked about his next move, he said that he is optimistic that Oborevwori will perform well and there will be no need to run for governor in 2027, but that he is open to other opportunities as God leads.
Chief Ogboru said he visited and congratulated Sheriff Oborevwori because of his humility and respect for authorities.
Ogboru said APC was hijacked, so he ran for governor on APGA’s platform.
