Gunmen kill teenager, raid homes with POS in Bayelsa
Six gunmen reportedly shot and killed a 20-year-old while robbing homes in Azikoro town, Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, on Tuesday morning.
The victim, Elo Lucky, was reportedly shot by the robbers in the early hours of the morning because she screamed when she awoke to find armed men robbing her family.

According to information gathered by Ejes Gist News Nigeria, six armed men stormed the Health Centre neighbourhood of Azikoro, broke into homes, stole cell phones, and demanded ATM cards from which they withdrew all of their victims’ money using the POS machines they brought along.
The victim, who was from Delta State and lived with her mother and stepfather, was preparing to take the supplementary JAMB examinations prior to her murder, according to information gathered by Ejes Gist News Nigeria.
A neighbourhood source told Ejes Gist News Nigeria that they were unaware of the robbery because their generator was operating at the time. until they heard the fatal gunshot that ended the victim’s life.

According to reports, the thieves broke into six other undefended homes in the area. They ransacked residences, robbed victims of their cash, and even threatened those who refused to provide their ATM card PINs for instant withdrawal through their POS with death.
The incident brought mourning to the town of Azikoro, as sympathisers flocked to the home of the bereaved family.
SP Asinim Butswat, the public relations officer for the Bayelsa State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are ongoing.
