A 34-year-old Nigerian woman, Olabisi Oyebolu, faced charges on Friday for allegedly assaulting her neighbor, Mrs Bunmi Olunlade, resulting in a miscarriage.
The Lagos State Police Command arraigned Oyebolu, a businesswoman residing at 33 Oluyeye St., Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos State, on charges of conspiracy and assault.

Despite pleading not guilty, the prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, stated that the defendant, along with her siblings who are still at large, engaged in a fight with the complainant over compound cleaning, leading to the loss of Olunlade’s pregnancy on July 26, 2023.

The charges are in violation of Sections 173 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. Chief Magistrate Mrs Bola Osunsanmi granted the defendant bail at N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, and the case is adjourned until February 22 for mention.
