IGP Egbetokun Approves Posting of Police Public Relations Officers

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun, has given the green light for the deployment of dedicated Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and Deputy Public Relations Officers (DPRO) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, in a bid to enhance community engagement and strategic communication within the police force.

According to a statement from the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the appointments aim to bolster the police force’s outreach efforts and foster better relations with the public.

CSP Isuku Victor Edailokun has been appointed Deputy Force Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. Additionally, several other officers have been assigned to various PPRO roles across different states.

The newly appointed Police Public Relations Officer and their respective portfolios include:

  • DSP Ukandu Joshua: PPRO Ebonyi
  • ASP Buhari Abdullahi: PPRO Gombe
  • ASP John Timfon: PPRO Akwa-Ibom
  • ASP Hundeyin Isaac Sewanu: PPRO Ports Authority Police (Western) Lagos

The statement underscores the IGP’s commitment to standardizing and repositioning the police force in line with his vision statement. The appointment of dedicated PPROs reflects the IGP’s focus on improving transparency and communication between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.
