INEC reportedly rejects guber results from Abia, Enugu, resumes collation Wednesday
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, reportedly rejected gubernatorial election results in Enugu and Abia states that did not match the number of accredited voters.
Recall that the electoral commission had halted the tabulation of election results for governor in Enugu and Abia.

INEC stated that this was in response to reports of disruptions in the collation of results in the Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State and allegations of irregularities in the collation of results from the Nkanu East and Nsukka Local Government Areas of Enugu State by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party.
In a statement released on Sunday, the commission added that it would review the outcomes in the affected local governments in the two states.
However, Ejes Gist News Nigeria has credible information that, after a thorough review of the exercise, the commission rejected the allegedly inflated results and insisted that the proper procedures be followed.
“Results will be announced shortly. The review of results from Enugu and Abia has already been completed, according to a source.
According to the source, the commission has also ordered a review of the results of Saturday’s governorship election in Enugu State.

The postponement of the announcement of gubernatorial election results has heightened tensions in both Abia and Enugu States.
In the meantime, there are indications that the suspended collation of the results of the Abia State governorship election will resume by 4 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Collation Centre located at the INEC headquarters in Umuahia.
Mrs. Rebecca Jim, Director of Voter Education and Publicity, confirmed the news to Ejes Gist News Nigeria on Wednesday.
