The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the dismissal of ’s counsel, , stating that he is no longer representing Kanu’s legal interests. In a statement released on Tuesday, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, declared Ejimakor a persona non grata within the organization.

The decision to terminate Ejimakor’s role as Kanu’s counsel came after he made public statements suggesting that Simon Ekpa and his supporters were followers of Nnamdi Kanu.
