Despite Rolling Stone’s attempts to reach out, an attorney for Kodak Black has not provided a response as of now.

In January 2021, then-President Donald Trump commuted Kodak Black’s 46-month prison sentence on his final day in office. The rapper had been serving time for providing false information on federal forms to purchase firearms. Notable figures such as Gucci Mane, Lil Pump, and Lil Yachty supported the pardon, citing Kodak’s philanthropic efforts, which include distributing school supplies and food to residents in need in Florida.

Kodak Black has a history of legal troubles, previously serving seven months in a Florida prison for charges including marijuana possession, child neglect, grand theft of a firearm, and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. The rapper has faced allegations ranging from weapons possession and armed robbery to sexual assault, probation violations, and fleeing from officers.
