1. President Bola Tinubu is expected to return today, Tuesday, from London in preparation for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. The Presidency had previously announced that the President had traveled to the UK from France, where he had attended a summit on ‘A New Global Financing Pact’ hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.

2. On Monday, power distribution companies reversed their earlier statement regarding a planned tariff hike set to commence on July 1, 2023. They clarified that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission had not yet approved the proposed increase.

 

3. Recent findings indicate that President Bola Tinubu’s administration inherited 38 unfinished road projects worth N979 billion from the previous Muhammadu Buhari government. Troops belonging to the 5 Battalion under the 16 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have seized an armory suspected to belong to militants and illegal bunkerers in the Azuzuama community of Ijaw South Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. The gun storage facility was captured on Sunday after the troops overpowered the suspects using superior firepower, causing them to scatter in disarray, as stated by Army spokesman Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu on Monday.

10. The Lagos State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the killing of a naval rating in the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state on Sunday. The naval rating, who was stationed at the Lagos Logistics Depot of the Navy, was fatally shot by gunmen in the community. Efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators of the crime.
