The Taraba State Police Command has officially confirmed the abduction of Inspector Emmanuel Yaro, who was seized by unknown assailants suspected to be bandits while he was on his farm.

Inspector Yaro, who was serving with the Kurmi division of the state police command, had taken some workers to his farm in Gidan-Idi village on that fateful day.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abdullahi Usman, the incident occurred while the inspector had briefly left the farm to purchase food for his workers in a nearby village.

During his absence, the kidnappers reportedly stormed the farm and held the workers hostage. When Inspector Yaro returned, he found himself facing the kidnappers, who released the workers and abducted him.

This unsettling incident comes in the wake of heightened concerns over security challenges in Taraba State. Governor Agbu Kefas recently called for more security measures, including the deployment of additional operatives and the establishment of a naval base in the state, to address the prevailing security issues.

The abduction of Inspector Yaro serves as a reminder of the ongoing security threats in the state, with authorities working diligently to enhance security and protect the lives of its residents.
