Nigeria’s Bold Vision: Hosting the African Central Bank Unveiled by President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu asserted that Nigeria is prepared to host the African Central Bank, aligning with the vision of the Abuja treaty. Tinubu emphasized that this initiative aims to equip Nigerian youth for the 21st-century economy.

The statement, shared on Tinubu’s Facebook page and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, elucidates his commitment.


Speaking at the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, President Tinubu outlined plans for collaboration with the African Union Commission and member states to ensure the bank’s scheduled launch in 2028.

Addressing the summit’s theme of education, Tinubu highlighted its pivotal role in devising creative solutions to long-standing challenges in Africa.


Tinubu’s administration, as per the statement, is allocating substantial resources to education at all levels. The president acknowledged the continent’s shared struggle against obstacles like climate change and unfair global trade patterns, emphasizing the need for a united West Africa.
