1) The Labour Party and its presidential candidate in the February 25 election, Peter Obi, on Thursday evening requested that the Independent National Electoral Commission be questioned by the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja. 2) The Governor of Benue State, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, lamented the alleged massive looting of the government house in Makurdi by the previous administration led by Chief Samuel Ortom, noting that he was left without a single official vehicle. Alia also stated that he inherited an empty treasury, an enormous debt profile totaling N187.56 billion, and months of unpaid salaries.

10) Two men, Theophilus Nwachukwu and Christopher Okoli, were convicted and sentenced to death by hanging by a court in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, for kidnapping, armed robbery, and illegal possession of firearms. Justice R. Harriman, the presiding judge, pronounced the verdict on June 6, 2023, noting that the prosecution proved all charges against the defendants beyond a reasonable doubt.
