What are the Nigerian newspapers’ headlines for today?

 

 

1) Governor Ahmadu Fintiri was proclaimed the victor of the state governorship election on Tuesday by the returning officer for the governorship election in Adamawa State, Prof. Mohammed Mele. Aisha Dahiru, also known as Binani, ran for office with the All Progressives Congress and received 398,788 votes, falling short of Fintiri’s 430,861 total.

 

2) Usman Baba, the inspector general of police, issued an order directing Mohammed Barde, the commissioner of police in Adamawa State on election duty, to leave the state immediately. The IGP also mandated that Etim Equa, the CP in charge of Gombe State, travel right away to Adamawa state to oversee election security for the hotly contested supplementary governorship election.

3) On Tuesday, the Labour Party’s leadership crisis worsened when NEC suspended Mr Lamidi Apapa, its National Deputy Chairman (South), and a number of other officials.
