1. Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has openly expressed his lack of regret for actively opposing the presidential aspirations of Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during the lead-up to the February 25 election. Defending his actions, Fayose boldly stated that he was unafraid of potential expulsion from the party due to his anti-party activities.

2. Engr. Gideon Ikhine, who served as the Deputy Director General of the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Council for Governor Godwin Obaseki’s successful re-election bid in 2020, has officially defected from the party and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ikhine conveyed his decision through a resignation letter addressed to the chairman of PDP Ward 7 (Ukpenu/Ujolen/Emuhi) in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government area.

3. The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has refuted rumors suggesting that they are planning to suspend former Senate President Bukola Saraki. This rebuttal was made in a communique jointly signed by the state chairman, Babatunde Mohammed, and the state Secretary, Abdulrazaq Lawal.

4. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been elected as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) during the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government held in Bissau, the capital of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has directed that Mmesomma Joy Ejikeme, a female student who falsified her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, be handed over to the State’s Guidance Counselor. A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan, and Muhammadu Buhari to provide a detailed account of the projects executed or currently being executed with the $5 billion repatriated Abacha loot. The court further directed President Bola Tinubu’s government to disclose the exact amount of money embezzled by the late General Sani Abacha, as well as the total amount of Abacha loot that has been recovered.

9. Dr. Dipo Fasina, former National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), who went missing on July 1 in Istanbul, Turkey, has been found. Fasina disappeared while traveling from Istanbul to Algiers, Algeria.

10. The decomposed body of Humphrey Nnaji, a construction engineer based in Abuja, has been removed from his residence in the Dawaki area of the Federal Capital Territory. According to reports, Nnaji was at home when unidentified suspects gained entry, murdered him, and fled the scene.
