Peter Obi Expresses Concern Over Tinubu’s Academic Records Controversy
Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has voiced his distress over the repercussions of the controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s academic records.
Obi emphasized that Nigerians are now being viewed globally as certificate forgers due to this contentious issue, which has put the country’s reputation at risk.
The controversy arose when Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accused Tinubu of forging the Chicago State University (CSU) certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Speaking at a World Press Conference in Abuja, Obi urged President Tinubu to disclose his true name, educational background, service history, and details of his CSU certificate.
Obi emphasized the importance of transparency and integrity in this matter, stating that it is a moral obligation for Tinubu to clarify these details.
Obi shared his own educational background, highlighting that he personally attached his University degree certificates, along with his NYSC, when running for president.

He provided specific details about his education at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and mentioned notable individuals who were his contemporaries at the institution.

He stated that providing this information is a straightforward task that would take only a few minutes and urged Tinubu to act without delay.
