FG Launches NIMC Self-Service Enrolment App for Accessible NIN Registration
Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Government of Nigeria has taken a significant step towards enhancing the accessibility of the National Identity Number (NIN) with the launch of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Self-Service Enrolment System. The system, powered by Banksforte Limited, was unveiled during the National Identity Day celebration on Saturday by the Minister of Interior, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the acting Director General/CEO of NIMC, Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote.
This initiative is expected to streamline the process of NIN registration and related updates, such as changes to names, age, marital status, and address. Dayo Bankole, the Managing Director of Banksforte Limited, emphasized that the self-service enrolment system aims to eliminate the bottlenecks often associated with NIN enrolment.

In an interview with Ejes Gist News, Bankole highlighted the key benefits of the NIMC Self-Service Enrolment App. He noted that Nigerians, including those in rural areas, would have access to the NIN registration process through the mobile app provided by Banksforte Limited. This development is poised to be a game-changer, making NIN-related updates more convenient and cost-effective.
Bankole explained, “The problem this is going to be solving is allowing people to take care of changing their addresses, their date of birth, their names, in case they get married that name change at the comfort of their home rather than traveling, spending a lot of money being at the National Identity Management Commission’s office, spending more expenses to be able to change names.”
The new system enables individuals with smartphones to download the app, register, and submit data changes for approval, enhancing the efficiency and ease of managing NIN-related information.
This NIMC Self-Service Enrolment App aligns with the government’s efforts to improve identity management and promote the widespread adoption of NINs across the country, ultimately contributing to a more streamlined and accessible national identity system.
