Speaking with Ejes Gist News Nigeria the Ohanaeze leader stated that Tinubu must ensure the establishment of the sixth Southeast state.

According to Isiguzoro, Tinubu is a progressive and a strategist; Tinubu’s government would differ from that of Buhari’s.

“Tinubu’s only obstacle is his advanced age, and the majority of those responsible for Buhari’s failure are lining up behind him because of the difficulties he faces following the 2023 election.

“Tinubu must appease the Southeast with four demands for the region to accept him as Nigeria’s president, and Ndigbos must stand tall and defend his mandate.

“The first is that Tinubu must unconditionally restore peace and security by releasing Nnamdi Kanu, whether he would pardon him from Eagles Square during his acceptance speech or use the power of the presidency to get him released to restore peace and security in the Southeast.

“Secondly, Tinubu must begin the healing process by ensuring that the Muslim-Muslim ticket is balanced by appointing a Christian from the Southeast as senate president. Whoever would serve as Senate President must not be a ranking Senator who lacks the moral fortitude to protect national interests.

“We are requesting that the Senate amend its rules to allow first-timers, as the senators with seniority have questionable morals and cannot represent the interests of Ndigbos.

“Thirdly, Tinubu must put political structures in place to ensure that Ndigbo feel the promise that Buhari secretly made to us that he would ensure the region receives a sixth state; Ohanaeze already has a plan for this.

“The incoming president must ensure that all of the country’s economic gateways are open, including the reopening of the Calabar wharf, the dredging of the Azumiri River, amnesty for IPOB members, and compensation for the families of those killed over the years.”
