PDP finally opens up on ‘suspending’ Dino Melaye, debunk the report, calls it fake

 

The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has addressed recent media reports alleging that Senator Dino Melaye was suspended for alleged anti-party activities in the state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the party’s State Secretary, Farouk Yahaya, the PDP denied any intention to suspend the governorship candidate.

The Kogi State PDP used the statement as an opportunity to issue a warning to troublemakers and those who wish to cause chaos within the party, stating that it remains steadfast and is focused on the forthcoming primary election.

 

The party subsequently urged its members and the general public to disregard “fake news” and avoid being misled by false information.

Meanwhile, The traditional ruler of Oghara in the Kabba Bunu Local Government Area of the state of Kogi has been kidnapped.

 

It was reported that gunmen invaded his palace early Tuesday morning.

Ejes Gist News Nigeria gathered that during the attack, a domestic worker identified as Toyin Onare was fatally shot.

 

In addition, Chiefs (Pa.) David Obadofin and Temidayo Elewa were kidnapped.

SP William Aya, spokesman for the Kogi state police command, confirmed the incident, stating that the thugs arrived at the palace around 3 a.m. and fired randomly before gaining access.

Aya added that Chief Obadofin, a major cashew farmer and a traditional leader, was resting in front of his home at the time of the attack with one of his sons.

According to him, the gunmen took the traditional ruler and Temidayo into the bush, but one person managed to escape.

 

He stated that Toyin, who was shot at the palace, did not die instantly, but his death was confirmed at the General Hospital in Kabba, the LGA’s headquarters.

 

SP Aya added that the state police commissioner, Hakeem Yusuf, had dispatched a tactical team to the area to apprehend the criminals and rescue the victim.
