Dass recalled that the National Working Committee (NWC) only provided advice to state chapters due to the ongoing legal dispute over the leadership’s legitimate constitution.
In accordance with the directive, they were permitted to form alliances “with an opposition party” for the February and March elections.
Dass stated that those who decided to align with the ruling APC and the opposition PDP in Oyo violated the SDP’s resolution.

The NWC has established a five-member committee under the leadership of Senator Ebenezer Ikeyina, the secretary announced.
Members include Mallam Nasiru N’Abba, Mr. Kelvin Damara, and Mrs. Y. Nolan, while Mrs. Adenike Olujembola will serve as Secretary.
The committee will meet to discuss reports that some SDP leaders in Oyo and elsewhere are supporting Tinbu and Makinde “against party directives.”
