A philanthropist and youth rights advocate, Ambassador Kelvin Onyekachi Nwoko, has called for enhanced welfare packages for the youth in the country.
He tasks governments at all levels in the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria to prioritize job and wealth creation, and also ensure the implementation of genuine and impactful skill acquisition training schemes to positively halt acts of criminality associated with restive youths in society.

Mr Nwoko spoke on Saturday in an interview with newsmen in Umuahia, the Abia state capital.
According to him, the skill acquisition and empowerment training schemes should be institutionalized in primary, secondary, and university education for every Nigerian child and youth in the whole geopolitical regions of the nation.
The renowned entrepreneur admonished federal and state governments, including critical stakeholders in the private business sector, to create and provide enabling platforms wherein every jobless graduate in society can be gainfully employed, becoming self-dependent and self-reliant.

He partly stated: “Not only the governments, Nigerians in the private sector-driven business investments, most of whom have continued to distinguish themselves and set standards in all critical spheres of human development, national and societal building.
“These worthy Nigerians should bring home all their private local and foreign business conglomerates scattering around the globe. And when these human and business investment conglomerates are brought or sited in our various localities, people will see job opportunities and apply to be able to engage themselves and be productive to their immediate families, various home states, and the world at large.
“Equally, these private sector-driven businesses would help in complementing the efforts of some local and state governments we have in this country in addressing the menace of terrorists, unknown armed men, and bandits that have caused monumental havoc on the innocent and peaceful citizens of this very nation.”
Mr Kelvin Nwoko also tasks the federal government and the leadership of the national assembly on increased budgetary allocations and regular provision of appropriated funds to relevant ministries and bodies overseeing affairs of youths in the country.
The global award-winning youth ambassador further commends the present federal government on the recent presidential assents on the 2023 Student Loan Act into law.
“The Student Loan Act would go a long way in making students in higher educational institutions in the country create self-employed business enterprises, enabling them to use the loan or money to attend to their daily needs while studying in respective schools,” the business mogul posited.
