The Oluoke of Okeigbo in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo local government area of Ondo State Oba Lawrence Oluwole Babajide, the Bamigbala I, has died
Oba Babajide was deposed by an Ondo High Court last month due to his non-membership in the Aare Kugbaigbe ruling house of Okeigbo. It was the ruling house’s turn to present a candidate for the throne in 2018.

However, he filed an appeal against the judgement prior to his demise.
On Friday morning, the announcement of his demise was made at the primary market of the town by the Isoros, headed by Pakoyi (Baba Loja) of Okeigbo Kingdom, Chief Akinbobola Adedigbo

According to a statement issued by the palace spokesperson, Prince Alexander Omojadegbe, the appropriate authorities have initiated burial rites to facilitate the smooth transition of the deceased monarch to his forefathers.
The late Oba Babajide was the sixth Oluoke of the Okeigbo.
