Reasons Behind the Resignation:

Senator Utazi, who served as the district’s representative between 2015 and 2023, submitted his resignation letter to Robert Ezeagu, the chairman of the PDP in the Nkpologu ward of Uzo-Uwani LGA.

In the letter, he stated, “It is with reservation that I resign my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, which I had the privilege of being a foundation member at its inception in 1998.”

He further elaborated that the ideals that initially attracted him to the PDP have gradually faded into obscurity, leaving him with no alternative but to seek another political platform where he can operate optimally and contribute to the nation’s development.

A New Chapter:

While Senator Utazi has officially cut ties with the PDP, he has not yet disclosed whether he plans to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or another political party. His decision to explore other options underscores the ever-evolving nature of Nigerian politics and the pursuit of ideals that align more closely with his vision for the nation’s progress.
