Six Nigerian Army personnel, including two officers and four soldiers, met a tragic fate as they fell victim to an ambush orchestrated by terrorists in Niger State.

The unfortunate incident transpired during a fighting patrol to Karaga Village in Shiroro Local Government Area, undertaken by troops from the 1 Division Nigerian Army.

 

According to a statement released by Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations at the Nigerian Army Headquarters, the troops encountered an ambush meticulously set by terrorists, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire. Despite displaying immense courage and resilience, six personnel ultimately succumbed to the hostile engagement.
