In order for the nation to have good governance, the cleric stated that the President-elect, his vice president, and all elected public office holders should be praised when they perform well and criticised when they behave improperly.

Bello stated that when there is good governance, there will be peace, prosperity, an abundance of resources for everyone, and less insecurity.

“The President-elect and Vice President-elect have a tremendous obligation to unite our minds. As a nation, we are so divided by religion, ethnicity, and social class.

“Their first task is to find a way to assuage our feelings and unite us; we can only move forward when we have a common goal and a unified mind,” Bello said.
