Tambuwal Makes Fresh Appointments Seven Days to Tenure Expiration
Aminu Tambuwal, the departing governor of Sokoto State, has approved the appointment of Principal Officers for the state’s tertiary institutions.
Additionally, the governor approved a new Executive Secretary for the state’s Primary Health Care Development Agency.
Mr. Tambuwal announced the appointment via the Sokoto State Head of Civil Service, Abubakar Muhammad (mni), on Monday, seven days prior to the expiration of his term.
According to Abukakar, the head of service, the appointment went into effect on May 19, 2023.
“The appointment is based on the medical doctor’s track record, experience, and commitment to the service of the state.”
The statement reads, “The Governor exhorts the appointee to view his appointment as a call to greater service to the good people of Sokoto State and wishes him Allah’s guidance in the performance of his new duties.”
Aishatu Madawaki, the state commissioner for Higher Education, announced the approval for the appointment of Principal Officers for higher institutions in the state during a brief press conference on Monday.
Muhammad Wadata was appointed as provost, Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki College of Education with Garba Bodinga as his deputy, and Aminu Kilgori as Registrar.
Rukayya Sani Rara is the Provost of Aisha Ahmad Gandi College of Nursing Sciences Tambuwal, and Ibrahim Aliyu is the Deputy Provost of Administration at the same institution.
Additionally, Aisha Sahabi as Deputy Provost Academics, Abdullahi Abubakar as Principal of Haliru Binji College of legal and Islamic studies, and Jummai Adamu as Vice Principal.
