Locals React In Yola As Patrol Police Officer shoots Woman
A police officer has shot and killed a woman in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.
The development has enraged the public.

It was learned on Friday morning that the incident, which occurred at 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the Doubeli culvert in Jimeta, Yola North LGA, also injured two of the deceased’s children and one other person.
A young man found sitting in front of the offender’s residence was reportedly apprehended by a police officer who was on routine patrol in the neighborhood.
The police allegedly shot and killed Maryam Abdullahi, a 70-year-old grandmother, after she was struck by a bullet. According to eyewitnesses, the police wanted to take the man away, but the neighbours resisted by demanding an explanation.

The gunfire allegedly injured three additional people, including two of the woman’s children.
Youths responded violently to the development by assaulting the Doubeli police station.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, stated in response to a question that the Police Sergeant implicated in the gunfire has been arrested.

He added that the command was conducting additional investigations to gather more facts about the incident.
