Tinubu Issues Directives To Security Agencies
On Monday, during a tour of the new National Security Adviser’s office and facilities at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Abuja, the Nigerian leader made this statement.
In a statement, the Presidential Villa’s Director of Information, Abiodun Oladunjoye, quoted the President as saying that security agents must eradicate terrorism entirely.
Tinubu stated that there would be no prosperity if security issues were not resolved, adding that the country’s intelligence community must prioritize information sharing.
Terrorism is not unique to Nigeria alone. It is widespread, and we must combat it. We must eradicate it entirely.
If we as Nigerians desire economic revitalization, prosperity, and development, we must prioritise security. This is a demonstration of intelligence efforts to combat terrorism, which I have just witnessed. This must be supported by evidence.
Counterterrorism that is not supported by knowledge and intelligence will be of no use to any nation. We will collaborate on this endeavour.
The efforts of the entire armed forces of this country must be coordinated so that they are unified in securing the nation. There cannot be discord in an orchestra. We must concentrate on a single tunnel; coordinate, share information and intelligence, and exert greater effort.
You cannot hoard knowledge. One cannot accumulate intelligence. I am happy to see Nigeria on the path to success. I guarantee we will.
Babagana Monguno, Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), praised President Tinubu for visiting his office and expressing his commitment to fighting insecurity.
It reaffirms his commitment, dedication, and inflexible rigidity to ensuring that the security misfortunes of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and, by extension, the sub-region are resolved as quickly as possible.
