Monday saw the inauguration of Tinubu and Shettima at the Eagles Square in Abuja.
On Tuesday, Tinubu and Shettima resumed their official duties.
Meanwhile, Bola Tinubu has made the first set of appointments as President of Nigeria.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved his first appointment after taking the oath of office.
Muhammadu Buhari, a former president, turned over authority to Tinubu earlier today at Eagles Square in Abuja.
After being elected, Tinubu nominated Victor Adekunle Adeleke to serve as his State Chief of Protocol.
He also appointed former Lagos State Commissioner of Information, Dele Alake as Presidential Spokesman and Olusegun Dada Special Adviser, Digital Media.
The new State SCOP’s mission began in earnest today.
He began working for the Nigerian Foreign Service in 1993 and advanced through the ranks, serving in a number of foreign embassies as well as at the State House and other headquarters.
Since Adeleke succeeds Ambassador Lawal Kazuare, his colleagues consider his appointment to be well-deserved.
With his extensive background as a career Foreign Service Officer, the new SCOP is expected to transform diplomatic protocol in the Villa.
His most recent appointment was as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) and Ambassador to Ethiopia, positions in which he performed admirably and honorably represented his nation.
Born in Ibadan, Oyo State, in 1967, Ambassador Adeleke earned a Bachelor of Laws degree (with honors) in June 1990 from the esteemed Obafemi Awolowo University. After fulfilling all legal requirements, he continued on to the Nigerian Law School on Victoria Island, Lagos for his professional study to become a Barrister and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1991.
