Ada Ameh

Ada Ameh passed away on July 17, 2022 at the age of 48 in Warri Delta State.

The actress, who had struggled with depression, had been visiting a family in the state when she suddenly lost consciousness. She was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead upon arrival.

Ameh was born on May 15, 1974, and he worked in the Nigerian film industry for over two decades. She suffered from depression following the deaths of her daughter and other family members.

Her roles as Anita in the 1996 film “Domitilla” and Emu Johnson in the award-winning Nigerian television series “The Johnsons” were her most recognisable roles.

Osinachi Nwachukwu

The death of Osinachi Nwachukwu shocked the world when it was revealed that the ‘Ekwueme singer’ had been killed by a family member. Osinachi tragically passed away after allegedly being beaten by her husband.

According to allegations, Osinachi’s husband beat her and kicked her in the chest, sending her to the hospital. It was also claimed that Osinachi died of throat cancer, but her family disproved this claim. The case is currently before the court, where the husband is being tried.

The three-parent mother was laid to rest on June 25, 2022, while her husband remains in custody.

Sammie Okposo

Sammie Okposo, a popular gospel singer died on November 25, 2022. The ‘wellu wellu’ singer reportedly died in his sleep at his Lagos State residence. The 51-year-old was laid to rest at a private cemetery in Ikoyi, Lagos State, after apologising for extramarital affairs months before his death.

Leonard Onyemachi

Actor Leonard Onyemachi, who had been battling kidney disease for some time before his death on May 14, 2022, had a long and distinguished career.

Although the actor had a kidney transplant in 2016, he ultimately succumbed to his illness in 2022. The actor rose to fame after appearing in the critically acclaimed film “Labista,” which was produced by Nollywood.

Chinedu Nwadike

Gospel Minister Chinedu Nwadike lost his battle with an unnamed illness on March 27, 2022, and passed away the following day.

He achieved widespread recognition thanks to the widespread success of his songs “Marry me” and “God of Vengeance.”

 

Romanus Amuta

Romanus Amuta, a well-known actor in Nollywood, passed away on February 10th, 2022. The war hero passed away after a lengthy battle with illness.

He achieved widespread recognition for his performance as Natty in the television sitcom New Masquerade.

Chinedu Bernard

Chinedu Bernard, a promising newcomer to the Nollywood film industry, collapsed and passed away on April 29, 2022, while she was cleaning St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Enugu State.

It is not known what brought about her passing.

Rico Swavey

Patrick Fakoya, a well-known former contestant on Big Brother Naija, passed away on October 13 as the result of a terrible car accident. Even though Rico was generally regarded as a calm person, the news of his passing shocked many of his fans.

The 29-year-old was reportedly in a coma for two days before being laid to rest at the Ebony vault in Ikoyi, which is located in the state of Lagos.

 

Sola Onayiga

Sola Awojobi Onayiga, another veteran Nollywood actress, passed away on July 18.

The gap-toothed actress was well-known for her role as Ireti in the now-canceled family drama Fuji House of Commotion.

Co-stars and fans of the drama series, Ngozi Nwosu and Jude Orhorha, mourned the passing of Onayiga.
