Sobowale said in a viral voice letter on social media that her N100 million marriage to another Lagos socialite, Demola Okulaja, ended after two months.

Sobowale, who could not bear depression as a result of her failed marriage, said she intended to terminate her life.

Farida Sobowale rescued

A video obtained by our correspondent shows her being restrained by those who rescued her from jumping into the Lagoon.

The socialite, who was dressed in a black gown, was said to have driven her Lexus SUV to the Third Mainland Bridge, dismounted, and was going to leap into the Lagoon when she was rescued by individuals around.

Farida Sobowale stated that she has been dissatisfied with multiple suicidal attempts since Okulaja moved out of the matrimonial house.

“Friends and families warned me not to enter the marriage,” she says. They told me that the man merely wanted my money, but I refused.

“It was love that drove me to do this.”

“I am deeply sorry for placing my children in this situation. If I had abandoned them after committing suicide, I could not have forgiven myself.

“I forgave my ex-husband. “May God bless him with another wife.”
