PFN speaks on ‘endorsing’ Peter Obi

On Friday, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) dispelled rumors that it had endorsed Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate.

Bishop Emmah Isong, the National Publicity Secretary of the PFN, told ejesgist.ng that the rumor is false.

Isong is quoted as saying, “I want you to know that nothing like that has ever happened in the history of the PFN.”

“We have not endorsed any political party or presidential candidate; instead, we are currently hosting the 17th Biennial Conference of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, titled “More Than Conquerors” in Bayelsa state.”

PFN therefore urged Christians in Nigeria to investigate the candidacies for president and vote according to their conscience, adding that it is nonpartisan.

“We have not yet endorsed any political candidate for the 2023 elections, and we never will.”

The PFN spokesperson stated, “We asked our members to pray, wait on the Lord, and vote according to their conscience.”
