Unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted Mrs. Gloria Izonfuo, a Federal Commissioner with the National Population Commission (NPC) in Bayelsa State.

Reports indicate that Mrs. Izonfuo, a former Head of Service in Bayelsa State, was reportedly abducted on Sunday evening at the Ogbakiri Junction along the East-West Road. She was said to be travelling from Brass in Bayelsa State to Port Harcourt, Rivers State at the time of the incident.

According to reports, the victim was allegedly abducted by unknown gunmen along with her driver and maid. The abductors have reportedly demanded a ransom of N5 million for their safe release.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, the Commissioner of Police has directed tactical teams to secure the release of the individuals who were reportedly abducted.
