Emefiele’s Study Leave Approval Unknown To Us – Presidency
The Presidency stated that it was unaware of President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged decision to grant study leave to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
On Sunday, Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President for Media and Publicity, said this in response to questions from newsmen.

On Saturday morning, another national newspaper reported that his position had not changed.
The presidential spokesman had previously stated, “We are unaware if President Muhammadu Buhari has granted study leave to the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
“It is also unknown to the President’s secretariat, which is headed by the Chief of Staff.”

Emerging reports from some online newspaper reported that that President Buhari had granted the CBN Governor study leave to leave Nigeria before the inauguration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29.
The opportunity for Emefiele to flee the country before Buhari leaves office comes amid allegations of corruption and terrorism financing, according to the report.
The online news source reported that the country’s secret police, the Department of State Services, was not pleased with the possibility of the CBN governor evading justice. The Department of State Services had unsuccessfully attempted to arrest and detain Emefiele in the past due to the damning allegations against him.
Tinubu accused Emefiele, who attempted to secure the presidential nomination of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, of sabotaging his presidential ambitions by introducing the Naira redesign and cashless policy via the CBN.
