Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has unleashed a scathing criticism of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje. Kwankwaso has also made a bold prediction that President Bola Tinubu would face significant challenges in his second term bid in 2027, attributing this to his association with Ganduje, whom he termed a liability.

The verbal battle between Kwankwaso and Ganduje has escalated in recent days, with Ganduje describing Kwankwaso as a serial loser. However, Kwankwaso fired back, labeling Ganduje as treacherous and asserting that Tinubu’s political future could be in jeopardy due to his connection with Ganduje.

Speaking at the NNPP’s national secretariat in Abuja while hosting Haliru Dauda Jika, the NNPP governorship candidate in the 2023 election who formally defected to the APC, Ganduje accused Kwankwaso of being a selfish individual known for deceiving people and switching allegiances when his desires are not met.

In response, NNPP’s National Publicity Secretary, Yakubu Shendam, released a statement asserting that Ganduje is a liability to the APC and suggesting that he is incapable of securing victory for Tinubu in the 2027 election. The NNPP questioned Ganduje’s credibility, citing alleged scandals surrounding him, and contended that the APC, under his leadership, is a declining party.

Furthermore, the NNPP pointed out that Ganduje had never won an election in his political career except for the one in 2015 when Kwankwaso secured victory for him as governor. The NNPP warned against any attempt by the APC to take control of Kano through unconventional means, emphasizing that the people of Kano and conscientious judges would resist such efforts.

The statement from the NNPP concluded by asserting that Ganduje’s leadership could lead to President Tinubu’s loss in the 2027 presidential election due to the perceived untrustworthiness associated with him. The party called on Tinubu to reconsider his association with Ganduje, considering the potential consequences for his political career.

As the verbal sparring continues between these political figures, the impact of their statements on the future of the APC and Nigerian politics remains a topic of speculation.
