In a reception in Ibadan organised by the University of Ibadan Muslim Graduates’ Association (UIMGA), Mr Shettima emphasised the need for domestic solutions. He urged Nigerians to leverage their intellectual capabilities to build a resilient economy amidst domestic and global challenges.

Shettima acknowledged the hardships faced by Nigerians, citing rising prices of essentials and a historic fall in the value of the naira under Tinubu’s administration. The vice-president attributed his worldview and values of public service to the University of Ibadan, where he obtained a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics in 1991. He highlighted the importance of education and collaboration for the nation’s progress.
Commending UIMGA for its contributions to societal peace and progress, Shettima stressed the need to bridge gaps between academia and practical expertise.
The UIMGA’s reception served as a platform for dialogue and renewed dedication to the nation’s development.
