Former Zimbabwean Minister Advocates for Legalization of Pr*stitution

Nyasha Chikwinya, a former cabinet minister in Zimbabwe, has stirred controversy by calling for the legalization of pr*stitution in the country.

Speaking at a meeting organized by the Economic Justice Women Project (EJWP), the former Zanu PF cabinet minister urged policymakers to address the concerns of s3x workers and prioritize their rights due to the prevalent abuses they face.

Chikwinya argued that legalizing s3x work would provide protection for workers in this category, acknowledging the pivotal role they play in society, particularly in preventing marriages from falling apart.

“Our country has come a long way with this matter, and what I believe is that if we fail to solve a problem the way we wish, there should come a time when we accept what is on the ground.

S3x work is a reality. It is time a push for its legalization commenced,” Chikwinya asserted.

The former minister emphasized the need to protect s3x workers from rampant abuses and suggested that their trade contributes positively to society by preventing the collapse of several marriages.

“Even if we reach that stage, there will still be no problem at all because these s3x workers are involved in a trade of selling a product which can still be taken back home in its original state,” she added.
