Despite staunchly supporting the Labour Party in the last election, the group expresses contentment with the limited ministerial appointments secured for the Southeast region.

Secretary-General Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, in an official statement, emphasizes the pressing need for developmental initiatives in the Southeast.

Proposals include the use of cement technology for the construction of federal expressways, the establishment of deep seaports in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State and Ebonyi State, a standard gauge railway from Port-Harcourt to Maiduguri, the creation of a new state (Aba State) in the Southeast, and fostering peace through comprehensive approaches for Biafra agitators.

Moreover, Ohanaeze Ndigbo calls for a federal inquiry into the tragic killing of 70 Nigerians, predominantly Igbos, at Lokpanta Cattle Market in Abia State along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
