The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of Hon. Amina Divine Arong as the new National Woman Leader. This development comes as she takes over the position from the late Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe, who passed away on October 29, 2023.

The appointment was made public by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, in a statement released through the party’s official Twitter handle @OfficialPDPNig. Ologunagba expressed confidence in Arong’s ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position and highlighted her longstanding commitment to the growth of the PDP.

A native of Cross River State, Amina Divine Arong is recognized as a prominent women mobilizer. Her role in leading and organizing various Party Women and Youth groups at different levels, along with her active involvement in Party Primaries and Congresses nationwide, has been integral to the PDP’s grassroots engagement.

In his statement, Ologunagba emphasized that Arong brings not only intellectual capacity but also extensive experience, competence, and vigor in mobilizing women for the party, both at the state and national levels.

As the new National Woman Leader, Amina Divine Arong is expected to serve out the remaining term of Prof. Stella Effah-Attoe. Her appointment reflects the PDP’s commitment to sustaining the legacy and vibrancy of women’s participation within the party.
