Bauchi APC youths pass no-confidence vote on Party Chair

Concerned All Progressives Congress APC Youth Progressive Movement has cast a vote of no confidence in the Bauchi state APC Chairman, Alh. Babayo Aliyu, and has therefore urged the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, to investigate the affairs of the Bauchi state chapter of the party.

National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Abdullahi Dauda Little, who signed a letter to that effect, recalled that after the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections, the group had written Adamu about the “need to look into the affairs of Bauchi State APC to nip in the bud the brewing turbulence to avert the mistakes of the post-election in order to make amends in the forthcoming Gubernatorial and House of Representatives election.”

According to the group, Tinubu’s greatest obstacle on his path to the presidency “was neither the defunct Peoples Democratic Party nor the Labour Party, but our own party.”

“High-ranking officials used their positions to undermine our party through a variety of means. First, they attempted to prevent you from running by asserting that a consensus candidate existed. When that failed, they devised alternative strategies, such as deceiving President Muhammadu Buhari into signing a policy that caused a fuel shortage and imposed a harsh economic policy on Nigerians under the guise of a cashless economy.

“Nigerians almost punished our party for this during the last election, but most Nigerians saw through this plan that the policies were designed to destroy our party’s chances of retaining power. However, thanks to your tenacity and the support of loyal party members and Nigerians, you have been elected president for all Nigerians.

“We, in Bauchi, wish to call your attention to the grave anti-party activities of individuals you trusted to mobilise the party to victory.” We would like to draw your attention to the activities of three leaders, including the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, the former Deputy Governor of our state, the Honorable Nura Manu Soro, and the party chairman.

“For reasons best known to themselves, each of these men has betrayed the party, your trust, and the ambitions of our candidate for governor, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar.

“The people of Bauchi had anticipated the return of the APC administration, but their hopes were dashed by these leaders’ various acts of sabotage through their actions and inactions.

“They refused to campaign in secret or in the open for the party, and those you entrusted with party logistics failed to mobilise them. This resulted in numerous disadvantages for our members.

“We will advise you, sir, to keep a close eye on those who seek your company in order to advance anti-people policies and derail your administration’s plan for a better Nigeria.”

“We also encourage you to ensure that the party for which you are the undisputed leader takes action against all those involved in sabotaging our party during the last elections in order to encourage loyal party members to always remain loyal to the party.”
