In a video, Asari Dokubo, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, is seen brandishing an Ak47 and threatening Igbos. Mr Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant, was at the State House on Friday for a meeting with President Bola Tinubu, less than a year after his anti-Niger Delta rants.

Mr Dokubo, wearing a ‘American Eagle’ T-shirt in the viral video posted on YouTube in October, said, “The Igbo people do not know their roots.” They have no regard for the person who purchased their father. You believe that every Kalabari man is the same.
I’m not familiar with the Igbos. If it weren’t for British intervention, I’d still be selling them the way my father did.”

“See how the Igbo people are dying,” he added. They keep telling me that I’ve fled. Take a look at me; I’m here. E’s like saying, “Look for who go look for una finish una.” Finish una by looking for her everywhere.”
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide spokesperson Alex Ogbonnia stated that a response to Mr Dokubo’s rant would be disrespectful.
“Asari Dokubo does not deserve a response from the National Executive Committee of Ohaneze Ndigbo,” Mr Ogbonnia said on Wednesday.
“Rather, we have a youth wing that will respond to him,” he added. I’ll be lowering the Ohaneze NEC’s office to respond to Dokubo. It’s not right.”
The police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, told Newsmen that he had not seen the video.
“I haven’t seen the video yet.” Mr Adejobi stated, “I am not aware of that.”
