“Fake O’level”: Auchi Polytechnic expels 40 students over falsification of results
Not fewer than 40 students have been expelled by Auchi Polytechnic administration in Auchi, Edo state.
On Wednesday, December 7, the institution’s Information and Public Relations Unit issued a statement confirming their expulsion.

Auch Polytechnic administration also disclosed the launch of 12 new programmes.
The affected students were expelled, according to the statement, for fabricating test results prior to enrolling in the institution.
The 40 students were discovered during the routine verification process for the 2020–2021 academic year, according to IPRU head Mrs. Adebola Ogunboyowa.
ejesgist.ng gathered that the 40 students were dismissed from both the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.
Auchi Polytechnic debuts 12 brand-new programmes.
Additionally, Mrs. Ogunboyowa disclosed that the institution added 12 new programmes.
She claims that the new programme covers topics like social development, leisure, tourism management technology, library and information science taxation, welding and fabrication technology, printing technology, and welding and fabrication technology.
Others include crop production technology, economics and development studies, microfinance and enterprise development, computer engineering technology, agricultural extension and management, and economics and development studies.
According to the institution’s IPRU director, the introduction of the new programmes was a step intended to fulfil the Rector’s promise to bring the polytechnic back to a level consistent with that of the world.

Mrs Ogunboyowa said:
“The National Board for Technical Education (NABTE) has received proposals for 12 new National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes in support of the Rector’s vision.
Ten of the programmes are at the ND level, and two are at the HND level.
