Amidst the commencement of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration, candidates faced hurdles in registering smoothly, with some expressing dismay over discrepancies between NIMC information and their registration details.
In response to these challenges, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) took a proactive step on Tuesday, January 23. NIMC, the body overseeing National Identification Numbers (NIN), shared a crucial update for JAMB candidates encountering NIN-related issues.
To resolve the problem, NIMC advised applicants to send their NIN via email to [email protected].
JAMB Candidates Frustrated
As the frustrations of UTME candidates persisted one week into form sales, JAMB acknowledged the challenges faced in linking mobile lines with NIN. Notably, JAMB disclosed a scheduled meeting with NIMC to address these concerns promptly.
In related insights, Prince Adesegun Ogungbayi, the chairman of MIMS Educational Services, emphasized the pivotal role parents and schools play in ensuring success for candidates in the upcoming examination. He specifically highlighted the importance of maintaining an intact NIN for creating a profile code, a prerequisite for purchasing a UTME pin.
