Babachir Lawal, a former Secretary to of the Federation (SGF) and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has dared his party to “sack” him for supporting , the presidential candidate of the for the 2023 election.

This online newspaper reports that Lawal made his remarks on Monday in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, during an interactive session between Obi and stakeholders from the north-eastern region.

“Although I am affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and serve on the party’s Board of Trustees, I am a supporter of the Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti movement.

“The APC has not yet dismissed me from my position. I have no idea what they could possibly be waiting for.

Lawal was quoted as saying, “We want (Obi) to win this election, and we must win this election.”

To refresh your memory, Lawal announced his support for Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and a former vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
