‘Monumental Loss’ — APC Announces Death Of National Welfare Secretary
Friday Nwosu, the National Welfare Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed away.
In a Thursday night tweet, the APC announced his passing.

The ruling party did not disclose the cause of death, but Ejes Gist News Nigeria has learned that Nwosu passed away in a federal capital territory hospital (FCT).
Sir Friday Nwanozie Nwosu, the party’s National Welfare Secretary, passed away recently. The APC family has suffered a tremendous loss. “May he rest in peace,” tweeted the APC.
Nwosu was a governorship candidate for the APC in Abia State in the run-up to the 2019 general election.
However, he lost the primary election to Uche Ogah, who ultimately lost the general election to Okezie Ikpeazu, the incumbent governor.

Prior to 2015, Nwosu competed with the future governor for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship nomination before joining the APC.
Ikpeazu, who was later sworn in as governor, won the election.
