INEC suspends collation of  results

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has delayed the collation of the results of the 2023 presidential election until Monday, February 27, 2023.

The electoral body made the announcement immediately after the state’s returning officer announced the election results in Ekiti.

 

According to INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu, the reason for the postponement is that the results from other states have not yet arrived in Abuja.

Yakubu stated that the compilation of results would continue on Monday at 11 a.m.

 

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Party, defeated Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, according to the announced results (PDP).

Tinubu obtained 201,486 votes to defeat Obi and Atiku, who received 11,390 and 89,554 votes, respectively.
