The statement reads as follows: “Since the campaign council began its work in September 2022, we have witnessed an unprecedented, relentless, and engaged mobilisation of our members nationwide and in the Diaspora to secure the majority of popular votes for the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket. Our arduous journey has been rewarded with a hard-won victory. All of our members deserve credit, especially the leaders and members of the various campaign directorates.

“We are profoundly grateful to President Muhammadu Buhari for his unwavering support and leadership throughout the campaign. We could not have achieved this level of success without his determination, dedication, and candour.

“However, we have determined that it is in the best interest of the campaign and its stakeholders for us to immediately dissolve our council. This has become necessary in preparation for the inauguration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s administration on May 29. The process of transitioning into a new era of Renewed Hope is currently underway, and all of our efforts and endeavours must reflect the guiding principles of this transition.”

In addition to praising all council members, the statement said, “We hope that you will continue to participate in Nigeria’s political process and advocate for causes in which you believe. When we all participate in the political process with patriotism, our democracy is strengthened. We would like to thank you again for your support, dedication, and hard work.”
