Abubakar Sani, an indigene of Sabon Gida village, provided chilling details of the attack. According to Sani, the bandits struck the area at approximately 4:00 am on Friday, catching the students off guard as they stormed three separate student hostels.

Tragically, many of the kidnapped students were females, while some fortunate students managed to escape into the nearby bush to evade capture. The bandits exhibited a ruthless modus operandi, only focusing on abducting university students and sparing the village residents.

Sani recounted the harrowing ordeal, stating, “When they arrived in the village, they went straight to the students’ off-campus residences and started shooting sporadically. They later broke into the campuses and forcibly took away a number of students, most of whom were females.”
