Bandits kidnap Zamfara district head

On Thursday morning, the District Head of Kasuwar Daji in the Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Ibrahim Sarkin Fada, was abducted from his residence by bandits.

Malam Audu Mohammed, a native of the region, confirmed that a large number of bandits attacked Kasuwar Daji village and went directly to the village chief’s home, where they abducted him and took him to their camp.

Bello stated that the bandits fired numerous gunshots to frighten the villagers who wished to rescue their village chief.

Last Thursday between 2:30 and 3:00 a.m., he was home when he heard gunfire, he said.

In a statement, he stated that the chairman and his deputy would resign pending the outcome of a pending legal action against them.

He stated that the Vice Chairman of the West Senatorial District, the Honourable Sunday Olaifa, who hails from the senatorial district of the “suspended” chairman, would act as chairman pending the outcome of the court case.

In addition, a seven-member disciplinary committee was established in accordance with Section 57, subsections 1 and 2 of the party’s constitution.

Chief Olaifa, the Honourable Agboola Akinpelu, Youth Leader, the Honourable Hakeem Amode, State Publicity Secretary, the Honourable Ismail Olatunji, State Auditor, and the Honourable Adio Salami State, Organising Secretary, were present at the SWC meeting.

Amode added, “The five members in attendance represent the majority of the State Working Committee’s original 14 members, of whom three had defected to the ruling party, reducing the committee’s membership to eleven.”
