Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Retd), the chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), stated on Wednesday that the organization had already “taken down three major drug cartels” in Nigeria in the first two weeks of 2023.
According to Marwa, one of the drug cartels has established extensive networks around the world, and the NDLEA currently has custody of at least six of their top leaders.

The head of NDLEA issued a warning that drug cartels and unrepentant drug barons would face harder times in 2023 if they did not give up their involvement in the illegal drug trade.
On the second anniversary of his leadership of the anti-narcotics organization, Marwa issued the warning during a press conference at the NDLEA national headquarters in Abuja to inform the public about the Agency’s efforts to rid the nation of illicit substance abuse and drug trafficking.

“We already have 34 barons in our net, and they are in court now facing the consequences.
