BRGIE Distributes Over N85 Million Palliatives to Biafrans, Hausa Community in Five Months, Emphasizes Unity in Struggle.
Simon Ekpa, the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE), has revealed that over N85 million worth of palliatives were distributed to Biafrans in the Southeast and South-South regions of Nigeria from July to November 2023.
The Finland-based lawyer and separatist made this disclosure on Friday, highlighting the impact of the BRGIE liberation movement.
The palliatives, comprising food items and cash, were distributed across Southeast locations, as evidenced by pictures and videos circulating in the media during the specified period.

According to Ekpa, this initiative aimed to bolster the commitment of Biafrans to the actualization of the Biafra Referendum.
From July 2023 to November 2023, the Biafra Prime Minister, through the Biafra Republic Government in Exile and Biafra De Facto Government in the homeland, has distributed palliatives worth over 85 million naira to Biafrans, both in the coastal and hinterland areas,” Ekpa stated.

He emphasized that the palliatives were not exclusive to Biafrans, extending support to the Hausa Community in Borno state. This gesture was intended to underline that the Biafra liberation movement is not rooted in animosity towards other tribes in Nigeria.
The Biafra government also shared palliatives with the Hausa Community in Borno state, demonstrating exemplary leadership to dispel any notion that the struggle is against any particular ethnic group. We want to make it clear that we have supported the Hausa community in the North with palliative measures to show we have nothing against them,” Ekpa reiterated.
BRGIE, led by Mazi Ekpa, has been vocal in its pursuit of the Biafra referendum. The movement has consistently called for the release of Nnamdi Kanu and the liberation of Biafra, marked by weekly sit-at-home protests in the Southeast.
In July, BRGIE organized a two-week sit-at-home protest across the southeast region, further emphasizing its dedication to supporting Biafrans affected by the challenges imposed by the Nigerian government.
“After two weeks of a historic sit-at-home, the Biafra Government continues to touch the lives of Biafrans that Nigeria has destroyed. I chose the one to post,” Ekpa affirmed.
This initiative reflects the commitment of BRGIE to both the well-being of Biafrans and fostering unity among diverse communities within Nigeria.
